THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID

It's no accident that Jesus is referred to as SON OF DAVID. From Samuel's horn of oil came an anointing on David establishing him as Father of the "messianic promises", and very worthy to be called "a mighty valiant man". "Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward ..."(ISam.16:13)  "From that day forward" reminds me of the baptism of Jesus, when the dove (symbolic of the Holy Ghost) landed on and remained on Jesus from that day forward! Concerning Jesus the gospel of St. John says: "Jesus had the Spirit without measure"! Likewise, at a young age while still tending his father's sheep, King Saul's servants gave this amazing description of David. "Then answered one of the servants, and said Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, (the harp) and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him."(I Sam.16:18)  Just as Jesus had the Spirit without measure, it is very remarkable to me that David could transition from a ruddy red faced lad into a valiant man of war in just a few verses of scripture!  That is a mighty work of the Holy Ghost!

I can't stress enough David's union with the Holy Ghost! This is why Peter's first sermon in Acts chapter two, is about King David just as it is about Jesus' placement upon the "throne of his father David". "Ye men of Israel hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know."(Acts 2:22)  "For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:"(Acts 2:25)  David the apple of God's eye and a man after God's heart deserves his place in maintaining a royal lineage suitable for the Greatness of our King of Kings and Lord of Lords! The baptism of the Holy Ghost should always be in the "forefront of our minds", just as David kept the "messianic promises"  in the forefront of his mind!  Always remember the Bible teaches "a fullness of the Spirit" we need to be striving to attain this fullness!

"And hath made us kings and priests unto God, and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.(Rev.1:6)  The word for made means developed and to achieve this status of "kings and priests" it will take the fullness of the Spirit developing us by the anointing, so we must keep this anointing in the forefront of our minds! Here's the Revelation: "After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up"(Acts 15:16)  "Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets, as it is written ",(Acts2:14-15)  "That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called , saith the Lord, who doeth all these things..."(Acts 15:17) This is not about a natural structure at all, the HOUSEHOLD OF DAVID was restored as the Name of Jesus was placed on devout men and women of the Spirit! The tabernacle was raised again as both Jews first then Gentiles secondly received the Holy Ghost and were baptized in the "name of Jesus".

When the day of Pentecost was fully come we see first of all an outpouring on Jews. "And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men , out of every nation under heaven". "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost".(Acts 2:38) This is for sure the first half of the equation the Jews take on His Name, that's what the Tabernacle of David is in reality "a people for His Namesake"! Here's the second half: "There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius,  a centurion of the band called the Italian band".(Acts 10:1)  Here come the Gentiles, Italians are privileged to be first because of Cornelius' devoutness. "While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word".( Acts 10:44) "And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord ..."(Acts 10:48) I hope you can see the restoration of David's Tabernacle is completed by devout men and women being filled with the Holy Ghost and married to the Lord Jesus Christ!
