From Genesis to Revelation there's a sovereign theme which springs from this verse: "And God blessed them, and God said unto them "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it : and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth"(Gen.1:28). So in the life of Jesus, this purpose remains the same. As the Son of God, He established God's Kingdom; "But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God,then the kingdom of God is come unto you"(Matt.12:28). The term Kingdom breaks down as Dominion of the King. In the Gospel of Luke Jesus says it another way;"But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you". Note the connection between Jesus and the finger of God.

In the OT Moses defeated Pharoah's magicians by the "finger of God".(See Exo.8:19) In fulfilling prophecy to the letter, Jesus who is called a prophet like unto Moses (See Acts 3:22) binds Satan the "strongman" by the finger of God. "When a strong man armed keepeth his Palace, his goods are in peace: but when a stronger than he shall come upon him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and divideth  his spoils"(Luke11:21-22). The cross of Jesus is the final victory; "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it"(Col.2:15)  Jesus establishes the "dominion mandate" in that whole region, and the Gospel of Mark closes with these words in red letters: "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover"(Mark 16:17-18). The Authority of the Believer empowers us as Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God!

Jesus accomplishes being fruitful, to multiply and replenish by the body of Christ. To multiply is to increase into a multitude by procreation. Here's a mystery, Jesus said: "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head". In context, foxes need dens to have cubs and birds need nests to have chicks, and so it is with Jesus, he needs a place to reproduce Himself which He does by attaching His Head to His Glorious Body! In Apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians this is explained; "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body the fullness of him that filleth all in all"(Eph.1:21-22). The Apostle goes on to tell us, He's the head of His Family, His Bride, and His Army! WOW

Here's a powerful example of replenishing the Earth! One definition of replenish is to make full that which was lacking. Jesus said: "I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straightened till it be accomplished"(Luke12:49-50). From the closing of the OT to the birthing of the New was approximately 400 years. No voice of the Lord, no passionate Prophets, seemingly no Fire! In the verse above, the Greek New Testament renders fire as a burning enthusiasm in believers and a deplorable antagonism in unbelievers. The passionate goal of Jesus was to start The Consuming Fire which God IS, and make it spread over the entire Earth! No luke-warm Earth, Passion against Antagonism, the deplorable antagonist are trying hard to extinguish the Fire, but it shall burn brighter by the Authority of God's Word! The sincere burning enthusiastic believer desires to be totally consumed in the Great Majesty of Jesus our Lord!
