HEAVENLY PLACES

Apostle Paul tells of knowing a man who could have left the body, although he wasn't sure, and was caught up to paradise where he heard words not lawful to utter!  This rapturous experience took him to the third heaven and how we need to hunger for such an experience.! In Strong's Concordance the Greek word for heaven is "ouranious" and signifies elevation and height. These things are still available to those who understand that our God is rich in mercy and As Paul says has Great Great Love!

Here's Paul's teaching in Ephesians; He has "loved us", "quickened us", "raised us" and "sit us" in the heavenlies! It seems to me it is not unlawful for God's chosen to hear things from the third heaven, but it is unlawful for uncircumcised ears to hear such things. God's martyr Stephen reveals what happens: their heart is cut to the core, they gnash their teeth and they stop up their ears! Job's revelation of the eagle applies to the "elect"; the eyes of the eagle behold afar off (Job 39:27-30). We have the "single eye" of the Spirit which has given Sons of God the ability to peer into the "power of the age to come"!  Help us see Afar Off !

If you've seen pictures of the outside of the "upper room" in the days of Jesus you will no doubt focus on the stairs that had to be climbed to get up there. As the final Passover arrives before the Cross, Jesus leads his disciples up the steps into an upper room. Here's what's going on in the corrupt streets of Jerusalem: "And the Jews passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, and found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changer's money and overthrew the tables(St.Jn.2:13-15).

Here's the revelation: "O my dove, thou art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice, and thy countenance is beautiful"(Song.2:14). You see the stairs to the upper room are symbolic; as I climb higher my visibility grows. Our goal is to see like Jesus, the end and the beginning at the same time; COME UP HITHER ! Each step represents separation from a religious celebration that Hebrews said is decaying and passing away! Each step upward represents a more intimate relationship as my eyes and ears are opened; "In those days saith the Lord I will put my laws in their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people"
